Back pain is one of the most common injuries that people suffer with today. As many as 8 out of 10 people will experience some kind of back related injury or pain within their lifetime. A back injury can be brought on by a number of factors, such as lifting a heavy object awkwardly, over exercising or carrying out an activity you don’t normally do, generally having weak back muscles or for just bending or leaning incorrectly.

Whilst advances in technology has helped reduce much of the manual labour required by humans today, it might surprise you to find out that one of the biggest causes of back pain is actually sitting at a desk all day long. Sitting incorrectly at your desk for long periods of time will greatly increase your chances of suffering from back pain.

If you have ever suffered with any kind of back related injury then you will know just how painful it can be, and in many cases actually too painful to walk, sit or move around at all. Whilst in the majority of cases, pain relief and rest is the best treatment, it is not always the case and long periods off work maybe required.

There are obviously many different treatments available for back pain, and without the need to always turn to painkilling drugs. Tens machines are a great way to relieve back pain, and what’s best is that they are completely portable units and can easily carried around by the sufferer without the need to visit a health professional.
